Kingston Negroni

I love a traditional Negroni, but this may be even better. A little sweeter, more depth of flavor and a silky mouth feel. I'll be making more of these.

1oz Smith & Cross Jamaica Rum
1oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
1oz Campari

Combine all ingredients in an old fashioned glass with a large ice cube. Stir until chilled. Garnish with an orange twist.

Bitter Daiquiri

 2oz Pineapple Rum
.25oz Campari
.5oz Lime Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup

Shake with ice and double strain into a coupe.

Jets to Brazil

The bastard child of a daiquiri and Jungle Bird. The addition of Aperol elevates it above the Bitter Daiquiri

1.5oz Pineapple Rum
.5oz Lime Juice
.5oz Demerara Syrup
.25oz Campari
.25oz Aperol

Shake with ice and double strain into a coupe.

Lost Lake

2oz Jamaican Rum
.75oz Passion Fruit Syrup
.75oz Lime Juice
.5oz Pineapple Juice
.25oz Maraschino Liqueur
.25oz Campari

Shake ingredients with a small amount of ice. Open pour into a Tiki mug and fill with crushed ice. Garnish with the usual Tiki usual suspects.

Tarzan

Campari and pineapple juice are a match made in heaven.

1oz London Dry Gin
1oz Campari
1.5oz Pineapple Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup
.5oz Lemon Juice
Soda Water

Shake everything except soda water over ice. Double strain into a Collins or highball glass with fresh ice. Top with a couple ounces of soda water. Garnish with some orange.

Enzoni

Very similar to the classic Negroni, but a little more refreshing.

1oz London Dry Gin
1oz Campari
.75oz Lemon Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup
4-5 Grapes

Combine the ingredients in a shaker, lightly muddle the grapes. Add ice, shake, double strain into an old fashioned glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with a Grape.

Bitter Mai Tai

1.5oz Campari
.75oz Aged Jamaican Rum, Preferably Smith & Cross
.5oz Orange Curacao
.75oz Orgeat
1oz Lime Juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. Open pour into a large rocks glass and top with crushed ice. Garnish with mint.

When you can't decide between a Mai Tai and a Jungle Bird.

Boulevardier (with Byrrh)

I've seen this called a Byrrh-vardier. That's dumb. You're just using a different fortified wine for 1/3 or the drink. Byrrh (pronounced like beer) is different. It's richer than your standard sweet vermouth and can stand on its own as an aperitif. I really like a Boulevardier -- it's refreshingly astringent. The Campari it normally calls for complements the rye, and you end up with a spicy, citrusy summer (but also winter) drink.

I'm all evens on my Negroni-style drinks 1 to 1 to 1.

1.75oz rye -I used High West.
1.75oz citrus bitter -Most recipes call for Campari, I used Luxardo Bitter here.
1.75oz Byrrh
2 dashes Boston Bittahs -Using orange bitter is also acceptable.

Build the drink in a rocks glass. Garnish with a flamed orange peel if you're feeling fancy.

Jasmine Cooler

1.5oz London Dry Gin
1oz Cointreau
.75oz Campari
.5oz Lemon Juice
Soda Water

Shake the first four ingredients with ice, double strain into an old fashioned with ice and top with soda water. Garnish with some lemon.

A more traditional way to serve this is in a Collins glass, leaving room for a few ounces of soda water. However, if you want something more bracing, bitter and sour -something more akin to an aperitif- just a splash of soda water is enough to open things up.

Lucien Gaudin

1.5oz London Dry Gin
.5oz Campari
.5oz Cointreau
.5oz Dry Vermouth

Stir ingredients with ice until cold and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with an orange twist.

For when you can't decide between a martini and a negroni.

Jungle Bird

1.5oz Dark Rum
.75oz Campari
.5oz Demerara Syrup
1.5oz Pineapple Juice
.5oz Lime Juice

Shake with ice and serve in an old fashioned glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge or fronds if you have a pineapple lying around. An umbrella will also do the trick.

Dole's canned pineapple juice works great for cocktails, don't bother with fresh pineapple juice.

Gin Campari Sour

1.5oz London Dry Gin
.75oz Campari
.75oz Lemon Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup
1 Egg White
1 Dash Orange Bitters

Dry shake, then shake with ice, double strain into a chilled coupe.
